During his athletic career, Wang Liqin delivered outstanding performances on the Olympic stage. At the 2000 Sydney Olympics, he partnered with Yan Sen to defeat Liu Guoliang and Kong Linghui in the men’s doubles final, claiming the gold medal. At the 2008 Beijing Olympics, he joined teammates Ma Lin and Wang Hao to stand atop the podium as the inaugural champions of the men’s team event.
